A 12-year-old girl from Arizona is about to go to college with a dream to become a scientist for NASA after she finishes college. At the age of 12, Alena Wicker is confidently moving towards achieving her dream- to enter Arizona State University. She just graduated from high school this year, by quickly finishing all of her lessons online. She will start college this summer with the goal of working as an engineer for NASA.

“I just had a goal that I wanted to achieve”- Alena said. “I have always dreamed of becoming an engineer because all my life I have enjoyed building”- she added. Alena’s passion for building began with Lego when she was still a baby. At the age of 4, she said to her mom that she is going to work for NASA and that she wants to climb to the stars. “She had a talent for symbols, lego, and science, so I began to develop it”- her mother shared.

Beating all the expectations, Alena will now have a dual specialization in astronomy, planetary science, and chemistry. If all goes fine, she will graduate from college at the age of 16 and go to NASA that same year. Her purpose is to create rovers like the one that was sent to Mars on the Perseverance mission. “It doesn’t matter how old you are and what you plan to do. Do it, dream, and then make it happen”- say this talented girl.
