World wildlife day is fast approaching and as one of the biggest events of the year, we will once again come together to raise awareness and bring celebration towards the world’s most important element- wildlife.

Wildlife day is a day to stand up for the animals that cannot speak for themselves, to help fight animal cruelty and human industrialization that is beating countless habitats and ecosystems, it is a day to bring awareness to the negative impact of zoos, plastic, and the overconsumption of fossil fuels. It is regarded as one of the most important days of the year and encompasses support, protecting, and conserving the importance of wildlife and the true essence of why we are even able to exist on planet earth at all.

What Is Wildlife?

In order to understand why we celebrate wildlife day, it’s important to understand what wildlife truly encompasses. Wildlife stretches far beyond just the animals that roam every inch of our planet and the countless species of biodiversity within them. Wildlife is precious, it is the basis of how the world was created.

Wildlife accounts for the forests, the numerous amounts of different tree species, the insects, and bugs, the plants that grow in all shapes and sizes, the beautiful flowers that bloom even in the harshed of weather conditions, and the beauty of nature as a whole.

Wildlife is the very essence of our environment and also a part that has been most damaged by human activities and behaviors, especially in the recent decade. World wildlife conservation day stands for saving the animals as well as the habitats that they live in.

The Importance of Animals in Our Life

The Importance of Animals in Our Life

So why celebrate a wildlife international day? Well to be honest there are many reasons but one of the largest has alot to do with animals and their importance for our planet and our lives on this planet. All animals, big, small, tame, wild, and everything in between each play a very specific role in the ecosystem of the world.

Without plants and animals, humans simply wouldn’t exist, we would have no oxygen to breathe, no tools, no food, and no clothes, ancient civilizations would never have been able to be developed. Modern life as we know it would simply be dead.

Animals are responsible for providing life, for feeding us, for allowing plants to grow. We can create medicines, for pollinating flowers that were used to make the first pieces of clothing, for providing fresh and clean drinkable water and so much more. National wildlife day was created in order to educate others on why we need to act on conserving and protecting all of our wildlife species.

The History of Why Should We Conserve Forest and Wildlife

World wildlife fund was founded in 2005 by a woman named Colleen Paige, an author and pet lifestyle expert. She founded the day in loving memory of the greatest wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin, otherwise known as the crocodile hunter, a particularly docile and peaceful creature who instead of swimming away continued to stroke Steve until he eventually bled out. Unfortunately, Steve died when he experienced a tragic encounter with a stingray.

The aim of the day was to bring awareness to a large scale of people across the globe about the sheer number of endangered animals on our planet and the desperate need for conservation and preservation of all of our wildlife species and habitats.

A large part of National wildlife day is bringing awareness to zoos and animals that are being exploited when the rest of their population is declining and a rapidly increasing rate.

The day was created to bring awareness to the importance of the conservation of flora and fauna, and the conservation of forests and wildlife. Also, to share the information with others that do not know as much in order to create a wider understanding of the severity of the situation so that we can collectively make a positive change for our futures.

How To Observe Nature Conservation Day

How To Observe Nature Conservation Day

There are many different ways that you can help bring awareness to our wildlife species on the 4th of September 2021. Some of the greatest and most beneficial things you can do are :

Make Save Wildlife Posters with Slogans

Making posters is a great and creative way of educating, it allows people of any age to get involved and have fun while doing so. Creating posters is also a great way to boldly show others the severity of the situation without overloading them with too much information. Making these posters may allow you to invite other individuals in your community to learn about the threats that our wildlife species are facing and the importance of protecting wildlife too.

Support Wildlife Organizations

Making donations to foundations and organizations that are aiming to protect and conserve our wildlife species by making large changes in nature conservation areas is a great way to fully support and observe national wildlife day. Your support no matter how big all small can allow these types of organizations to really create a permanent and physical change that may help as part of a solution to solving our wildlife crisis.

The first step in truly observing national wildlife day is knowledge, educating yourself on wildlife, the threats they are facing, why they may be facing such threats as well as how to protect wildlife. It is the most important thing you can do, as this will then allow you to responsibly share this information on a wider platform to many other individuals who may not know all that you do.

It’s important to encourage them to learn, to go to nature conservation areas and take guided walks, watch documentaries, and read amazing and inspirational wildlife day quotes. This allows them too to pass on this information and in this way we can have the possibility of reaching as many people as possible throughout the entirety of the world.

Social Media

Posting on social media using the hashtag #NationalWldlifeDay or using the symbol of the world wildlife fund is another great way to reach a large sum of people. Also, it spread awareness not only about this one day in particular, but why the need to create this day has even had to happen.

The goal of a world wildlife day theme 2018, 2019, 2020, and now 2021 is to primarily educate all those from young to old about wildlife and why we need to conserve not only animal species but species of all kinds but in a fun and exciting way. We also need to appreciate why we need wildlife in order to truly understand the severity of the situation if it were to be taken away tomorrow.

The Bottom Line

As you can see, the world wildlife foundation and the aim of national wildlife day is truly to share and bring awareness to the importance of conserving and protecting wildlife as a whole. Each element from the forests to the plants, shrubs, bushes, flowers and countless animals species plays a very important and specific role in the way the earth was created and is the essence of what allows human life to exist in the first place.

Although it had to be created as a result of a very tragic event, it is also been created so that we will not forget not just about the tragedy but why it happened and the effects of our actions of the elements of nature that do not have the voices to stand up for themselves, and thus it is our responsibility to move into a future where we can create change.
